Eugenio Gerli

Biography

Already experimenting with materials such as plastic felt and curved plywood before becoming an architect, Eugenio Gerli (Milan, 1923–2013) opened his practice in 1949. In 1957 he began a long partnership with Osvaldo and Fulgenzio Borsani and Tecno, designing the historic Graphis office system in 1968 and seating icons including PS142 and S142. His sons Enrico and Guido joined the practice in the 1970s and today also care for the archive.
