Pierluigi Spadolini

Pierluigi Spadolini (1922-2000) was an Italian architect and designer from Florence. Active from 1952, he worked in public and private construction and industrial design, creating electronics, furniture, and boats for major companies. A professor at the University of Florence, he helped establish the Artistic Design for Industry chair. He won the Compasso d’Oro (1987) for emergency housing and the IN.ARC award (1992) for corporate architecture. Internationally recognized, he lectured in Moscow and exhibited at the Venice Biennale. He was also a theorist and member of L’Arca’s scientific committee.
