Antonia Astori

Biography

Antonia Astori was born in Melzo, near Milan, in 1940 and graduated in Industrial and Visual Design at the Athenaeum of Lausanne in 1966. From 1968 she worked with Driade, developing important furniture systems and furnishing elements conceived as room architectures, while helping shape the company’s identity through exhibitions and installations. She considers furniture systems as open works to which the end user contributes. Her design practice runs alongside interior projects for homes, offices, showrooms and stores, including work with Marithé and François Girbaud and numerous Driade spaces.
