Ignazio Gardella designed Doppio Vetro in 1955 around two moulded prismatic glass hemispheres with a deliberately technical character. Used as both a wall and ceiling lamp, it appeared in the entrances of Milanese buildings during the post-war period. The glass softens the light while the compact construction retains the clarity of the original industrial component.
